This painting represents different seasons of life. The young child in
the reflection of the water has her hands over her head to protect
herself from being hit. The older child with her hands over her eyes is
crying for the younger child in the reflection pool. The young woman
hidden in the tree is putting her hand on the shoulder of the second
child to comfort her and is beginning to stand up for herself. Only God
can bring beauty out of pain and joy out of suffering.

Many of my paintings depict what God is doing in my life. Years ago,
God asked me to forgive somebody. I tried and tried, prayed and
prayed, read a lot of books, but I couldn't. I finally realized that I
couldn't do it in my own strength, and I asked Him to help me. God
showed me that Jesus forgave those who crucified Him. Luke 23:34
"Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do." God asked
me to forgive somebody who has hurt me my whole life. And with
His help, I did. Only God can set us free.
